2012 Biannual Juried Exhibition
August 31 - October 7, 2012
Deadline for entries: Friday, June 29 @ 5 p.m

Every two years the Grimsby Public Art Gallery hosts a juried exhibition to showcase new and exciting works by artists from across Ontario. Our 2012 Biannual Juried Exhibition will be on display in the Main Gallery from August 31st to October 7th. This is a province-wide competition, often attracting up to 200 entries; from these the three jurors must select around 40 pieces that will make up the show.

Like many competitions that draw entries from a large geographical area, the GPAG Biannual  Juried Exhibition is juried from digital images. There are many advantages to this system. The cost of transportation to enter the show is minimal; this is a tremendous advantage for artists who live a  significant distance from the gallery and it makes the cost to enter fair for all. Works in all art and fine craft media, including installations and outdoor works, are accepted as entries; again jurying from images is virtually the only way for artists who work in these media to enter.

The juried process is always an exciting one – for the artists; for the jurors; for the gallery; and for the viewers – and a process in which we all manage to experience something new. We invite all artists and artisans living in the province of Ontario to submit their best new work for consideration.
